Ghana:
"How are you, white man?"
We were in Ghana
for almost 2 months. We went there at the beginning of August
2003 with the aim to buy products from local artisans. We visited
many workshops to find products we were interested in. Sometimes
we would take a 60 km taxi ride into the African jungle to finds
such a workshop.

We
saw how specific products were made, sometimes we were allowed
to take photos. Then we loaded the purchase to the taxi and went
back. It was our everyday business. The places we visited were
rarely visited by tourists so the Africans were highly surprised
to see white men so far from civilization.

I
remember kids running after our taxi and crying "Obruni,
Obruni eti se?" which means "How are you, white man?".
Or women who wanted to marry us because we were exceptional, we
were from Europe.
We spent two months
in Ghana. It was an unforgettable experience. I hope our photographs
can at least hint the marvels of the African continent.
